The Benedictio IV book was recently published on September 4th 2020 and is primarily a tribute to the Amazon Rainforest and combines art inspired by the Amazon Rainforest from  Suriname, Guyana en French Guiana with educational and relevant information about this rainforest, its inhabitants, its biodiversity, its challenges.

The mission of the Benedictio IV book is to inspire and inform the  readers why it is necessary and important to protect and preserve the Amazon rainforest for future generations

In the first part, diplomats and other leading experts from the field talk about the status of the Amazon rainforest, its peoples and its political and ecological importance and other relevant matters surrounding this theme.

In the second part, all 50+ artworks that are inspired by the Amazon rainforest are  photographed and described. Through each artwork, the reader is informed about different aspects of the Amazon rainforest (its biodiversity, peoples, history, challenges, etc.), based on extensive research.

In the last part of the book, the biographies of the artists are presented. The artists involved are 17 top and promising artists from Suriname, Guyana and French Guiana such as Stanley Greaves, George Simon, Jules Chin A Foeng etc. and 3 special guest artists from the Netherlands and Switzerland.

This book is of educational value because it contains relevant factual and relevant information about the Amazon rainforest and the art and culture of the three Guianas. In addition, the affected territory of Suriname, French Guiana and Guyana, accounts for more than an average of 90% forest cover, the most forested area in the world! Environment & sustainability, art and culture wrapped in a cover that is a symbiosis between Dutch Cultural Heritage – Delft Blue – and the spirit of the South American Amazon rainforest. After all, this rainforest belongs to all of us.
